Stay Close to Me

What a great phrase--it comforts -- invites. I heard it in a song by Storyhill--theirs is a song about the Civil War. Look it up...Shade of the Trees http://www.storyhill.com/

I love great phrases that "get me thinking"...What can you do with "Stay close to me"?

Stay close to me
Breathe the air that I breathe
Feel my heart beneath your hand
Brush your lips against my face
I’m right ahead of you
Just behind you
All around you.
Stay close to me.

The world has changed.
The rules that kept us safe and warm
Are broken.
The towers tumbled
The waters washed away our defenses
Stay close to me
I will protect you from all I can
The winds without...the storms within
I’ll be your shield while my life lasts
The war is great...the battles long and hard
You will be weary
You will be wounded
I’ll be your healing balm
I’ll restore your spirit.
Stay close to me

  1. Beautiful. How lucky we are to have a God that WANTS to have us close to Him and doesn't keep His distance.
